Auf der Seite von msiwind.net, habe ich heute morgen einen Wiki-Artikel gefunden, wo beschrieben wird, wie Ubuntu Hardy Heron auf ein MSI Wind 100 installiert werden kann. Leider habe ich noch kein MSI Wind um dies auszuprobieren.

1. Use Ubuntu alternative install CD (just head to http://www.ubuntu.com and choose download, remember to click alternate check box). Then you can install Ubuntu on the wind with faster installer (no gui but text user interface).
2. To be on safe side, you should install only base system and after that check the network connection from bash (how to do that head to http://ubuntuguide.org).

After base system install (about 250mb) and login:

1. sudo su
2. passwd => choose good root password.
3. exit
4. logout
5. root => your root password.

After login (root):

1. apt-get update
2. apt-get dist-upgrade
3. (reboot if necessary)

Choose one of the three (installs with latest updates, if no network then it tries to acquire packets from install media):

1. apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
2. apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
3. apt-get install xubuntu-desktop

after everything goes according to plan:

1. shutdown -r now

You should be after reboot in *buntu gui login screen.
